District Message
Parents,
If you notice your child has an unexcused absence, there could be several reasons.
1. If your child is not in class when attendance is taken teachers are required to mark the student absent unexcused, unless they have notice from the office.
2. If your child was late and missed roll call, the absence will be coded correctly by the attendance person in the office. Due to the nature of the program we use, everything a teacher does is posted immediately, however when a change is made by the office the change will not show up until the next day. As a result you may see your child marked unexcused absent when they were actually late to class.
3. If you called to report your child absent the call may not have been placed in time for the office to make the information available to the staff, again the office will correct the attendance rolls and this will show up correctly the next day.
